Dear Libprofs, I have a problem that might be of interest to some of you and perhaps someone of you might have some advice for me. My manuscript on the economic development model of singapore is comlete and in page proofs...(besides relating my personal experience at the hand of the authoritarian regime there, i expand the discussion to examine the implications for the east asian region)...however, my publisher (unname here for the moment) in malaysia has been informed by legal advisers that there is a possibility of legal action against them if their name appears on the book...this is due to an interesting extra-territorial jurisdiction between singapore and malaysia...since i have been found gulity of "contempt of court" in the high court in singapore, a firm operating in the 2 countries would be held liable for repeating any of my scandalous comments.... what i need now is a publishing house that might be willing to co-publish this manuscript...all printing costs have been covered, so no financial commitment is required...there is no likelihood that singapore would be able to take legal action against... one problem is that the book was to be in print by december to be available during a conference in hong kong (it can be in camera ready copy by the end of october), so time is important any ideas...? christopher lingle
