I'll take the plunge as well. Generally speaking, I am non fiction writer
although I began by writing and publishing poetry, and fiction has always
been my passion. Thus, I am delighted to be part of ChildWrite.

My husband Bradford and I live on a hobby farm in rural Ontario, where I
write books/articles and he writes computer software. We lease our fields
and barn out to a neighboring farmer, so we have all the benefits of country
life with relatively few of the disadvantages. Brad and I moved here ten
years ago from Los Angeles, where we met, and relocating would have been a
culture shock had I not grown up on a farm and had he not been born in an
Illinois town the size of a postage stamp. 

These days I seem to be spending a great deal of time in the 19th century
via a truly wonderful time machine known as a microfiche/microfilm reader. I
have been transcribing articles and essays written by indivdiaulist
feminists and which have remained buried in dusty pages [dusty fiches?] of
periodicals such as The Word and Liberty for over a century. Surprising how
well many of the women withstand the trial of time. 

Now that farm is coming alive, however, I will be yanked back to this
century more and more. That is, if being seduced by the sunlight and the
smell of spring can be called "yanking". ;-)
