for something you've read or you've heard?
You can't tell much by the sight or the sound
Cause the meaning is not in the word.

The dictionary way up on the shelf
And the interesting things it reveals
Can't tell you as much as the person himself,
By the way that he thinks and he feels.

If a duckling could say "what a beautiful day!"
He wouldn't mean sunny and fair.
Since a duck looks at weather in a different way,
He would mean it was wet everywhere.
